Power Up Nursing invited to American Heart Association Congress with new power partner Ultra Human

Power Up Nursing + Ultra Human = Ultra Nurses

On November 16-18, 2024, Power Up Nursing CEO Tanya Abreu will join Ultra Human at the American Heart Association's Congress in Chicago. Our mutual goal is to demonstrate the importance of tracking and monitoring health vitals to prevent and manage chronic diseases like cardiovascular disease, stress-related health conditions, diabetes, autoimmune diseases, and depression.

Power Up Nursing endorses the Ultrahuman Ring AIR as the Optimal Choice for U.S. Healthcare Providers because:

The Ultrahuman Ring AIR, is the world’s lightest wearable tracker ring and is specifically designed to measure and interpret health metrics that directly support healthcare providers’ physical and emotional well-being:

  • Sleep Tracking: The Ring AIR provides granular insights into sleep stages—deep, light, REM, and wake cycles—allowing users to identify patterns and optimize rest. Naps are integrated into sleep metrics to help compensate for foundational sleep session changes.

  • Heart Rate and HRV Monitoring: Continuous tracking of heart rate and derived HRV helps assess stress response and recovery. Low HRV is often associated with higher stress levels and burnout, making this a vital marker for healthcare providers who need to sustain mental clarity and resilience.

  • Skin Temperature Monitoring: Skin temperature fluctuations are a known indicator of physiological stress, potential illness, and recovery state. Ultrahuman’s temperature-tracking feature allows healthcare providers to proactively monitor these changes, helping to identify early signs of fatigue or burnout.

  • Dynamic Recovery Score: Users who take heed of their health and make incremental changes in their day to optimize their health are provided real time view into how their recovery changes with habits they adopt. Hence, if a user harnesses deep breathing to reduce their current stress, that is shown in the recovery score. This is a tremendous source of motivation and self-discovery added to self-care.

  • Movement and Recovery Insights: Regular movement supports both physical and mental health, reducing musculoskeletal issues and burnout risks common among nurses and other first responders. The Ultrahuman Ring AIR’s Movement Index helps users keep track of physical activity and tailor it to their needs, improving endurance and preventing injuries associated with prolonged inactivity or overexertion.

  • PowerPlugs: Ring AIR also comes with PowerPlugs, a modular feature aking to an app store on a phone. Individual apps and plugins built on top of Ultrahuman’s health and wellness data stack helps support specific health requirements. This is the world’s first in a smart ring form factor. Recognizing each individual’s health journey is unique, PowerPlugs enable people to choose and focus on the aspects of their health that matter most. It’s designed for highly personalized health insights, ensuring that every individual can personalize their health tracking to their unique needs and goals.

Examples include Circadian Rhythm, which offers tips on optimal light exposure and activity timing to align with natural rhythms, improving energy and sleep quality. Pregnancy Insights provide tailored advice on nutrition and activity, ensuring health for both mother and baby, while Cycle Tracking helps women track menstrual phases and fertility windows. Caffeine Window guides stimulant intake for better energy management, and Vitamin D offers safe sun exposure recommendations based on UV index and skin type. The Screentime PowerPlug encourages mindful digital habits, reducing screen-related strain and supporting sleep and mental health. These PowerPlugs deliver a comprehensive suite of tools for proactive and informed health management.

Additionally, upcoming features like Jet Lag, Weight Loss, and Ovulation will help users manage travel schedules, balance calorie intake with real-time glucose monitoring, and track ovulation cycles to optimize reproductive health.

The Ultrahuman Ring AIR is more than a health tracker—it’s a comprehensive tool for empowering healthcare professionals to manage their health proactively. By leveraging metrics like sleep quality, HRV, and skin temperature, the Ring AIR enables first responders to understand better and manage their physical and mental challenges. Ultrahuman is a complete ecosystem that provides metabolic health monitoring via the M1 continuous glucose monitor and Home Health, which can measure environmental factors such as PM2.5, Carbon monoxide, temperature, ambient blue light, and sound in hospitals and clinics to provide greater insights into stress and recovery. The vision is to provide holistic information on where and how nurses function and what impacts their long-term health.

Bhuvan Srinivasan, Chief Business Officer for UltraHuman worldwide shared, "Nurses are the backbone of healthcare and represent the "care" in healthcare (corny but true). We are so excited to partner with Tanya Abreu and Power Up Nursing to bring better health to nurses! More to come!"
