Bridging the Divide: Multigenerational Leadership for Nursing

Nursing is experiencing a generational crossroads.

Experienced nurses carry decades of clinical wisdom, institutional knowledge, and leadership insight. At the same time, a new generation of nurses is entering the profession with fresh perspectives, technological fluency, and a powerful desire to reshape healthcare.

Too often, these generations work alongside one another without fully understanding each other’s strengths, motivations, and expectations.

In this thought-provoking and forward-looking session, Dr. Carol Biggs explores how healthcare organizations can intentionally bridge generational divides to build stronger nursing teams and more resilient systems of care. Drawing on her leadership at Jackson Health and her academic role at the University of Miami, Dr. Biggs examines how mentorship, mutual respect, and shared purpose can unite emerging and experienced nurses.

Participants will discover strategies to harness the strengths of every generation in the workforce, creating leadership pipelines, stronger collaboration, and sustainable progress for the profession.

Attendees will leave with practical insights on how to connect the wisdom of experience with the energy of the next generation to ensure a thriving future for nursing and healthcare.
